More than a month ago, what some might deem as the unthinkable occurred as a listing for Atlus’ Catherine: Full Body emerged online for Nintendo Switch. While the game definitely not a mainline Shin Migami Tensei or Persona at all, Catherine does rank to be one of the team’s best properties from the past decade.

What makes this discovery more interesting is that the game was framed to be a forever exclusive on Sony’s PlayStation 4 offering more content and the additional girlfriend which layers the intricate storytelling outcomes. But despite what we thought, it was only a matter of time until the game was addressed to being legitimate either by Atlus or from Nintendo in the coming future.

And that time has finally arrived as it was properly revealed at today’s Nintendo Direct Mini revealing that the game will be releasing later on this coming summer. You can watch the full trailer in the video below:

While this series does not offer the RPG elements that Persona is most notably famous for, Catherine does, however, feature an in-depth puzzle system that takes strategy and some luck to be victorious with. Atop of the game’s fundamental gameplay, the player will also have to make decisions throughout their course of the game through Vincent’s shoes as he juggles between now three different women.

The title originally launched back in 2009 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the game only offered two girlfriends to dictate the story. But with the addition of a third girl and more substance to the base game, players could reach a new ending not available in the initially released version.

Unique to Switch owners, Catherine: Full Body will be the first instance of the game being playable on the go. Hence this new freedom the game is available to follow, Atlus urges players to try the Versus or Co-op modes when out and about with a friend.

Have you played Catherine at all since the game released?

Catherine: Full Body is scheduled to release for Nintendo Switch on July 7, 2020; out now for PlayStation 4.
