
Unfortunately for fans of the upcoming The Last of Us Part II, it has been an eventful week more than we could have hoped for. Users online were subjected to heavy spoilers regarding the storyline for the approaching sequel which surely upset many players anticipating to play the game in the coming months. Despite the leak, developer Naughty Dog still urged fans to pick up the game as the overall experience to the end is the journey that will overshadow the current sour moment.
At the time of the unwanted information seeping online, it was reported that developers who worked on the game and were sick of the culture within the development studio happened to leak the information online. However, not that does not look to be the case according to an update made by Sony.
Speaking with gamesindustry.biz, the outlet was told by Sony Interactive Entertainment that neither parties including the publisher nor Naughty Dog are responsible for the leak that took place this week. Instead, this is at fault to individuals outside of both companies that should be accounted responsible for the leaks. Sony tells the situation is still under investigation – assumed to unmask where the leaks originated from.
The leaks for the climatic moments of the story also false just prior to Sony Interactive Entertainment announcing that The Last of Us Part II will be arriving in late June. The announcement is also conjoined with the three-week delay for Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima which was initially scheduled to arrive in late June.
In other Sony-related details that broke recently, the expected presentation to unveil the upcoming PlayStation 5 was brushed upon.
