At the beginning of the week. Sony emerged eager for this coming month’s new PlayStation Plus lineup for June 2020. The company disclosed that Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: WWII will be headlining the roster starting next week. But, the firm did purposefully leave out what the remaining free game will be sharing that “we’ll share additional details on our monthly lineup later this week.”
Now, that time has arrives as Sony remerged back into the spotlight to announce the second title. And if you are familiar with the timely release of the 2017-released Call of Duty entry, then you should remember one the shipped the same time from Electronic Arts’ developer, DICE. Sony shares that Star Wars: Battlefront II will be the second free title for June 2020.
Although further content updates have ceased for Call of Duty: WWII for years now, Swedish studio DICE has been pumping continuous updates into its latest Star Wars title until recently. The team has worked endlessly to reshape the image of Battlefront II following its eye-hurting reception years prior and have proven to do so properly with 20+ updates that shipped since late 2017.
This past April, DICE announced to be halting any further content additions to the game and will now shift further focus to incorporate weekly objectives and other in-game challenges. This action entailed that the team has collectively decided to hang up the coat in favor to capitalize on team efforts towards the approaching, untitled Battlefield slated for 2021.
PlayStation Plus owners currently have until June 1 to install May 2020’s Cities: Skylines and Farming Simulator 19 for free. That same day, both Call of Duty: WWII & Star Wars: Battlefront II will be available to install running until July 6 the following month.
