Age Of Empires II: Definitive Edition Launches On PlayStation 5 Next Month

Microsoft’s ripe approach for its titles is still underway for more platforms to welcome new additions. Although the Xbox firm initially promised only four games in total, the company has since then reapproached the pursuit with full generosity. This spring, we can already anticipate the welcoming of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Forza Horizon 5. Already, Age of Mythology: Retold shipped on PlayStation 5 in March.

Looking ahead, Xbox Game Studios is also preparing the launch for Doom: The Dark Ages which plans to launch on all major platforms this coming May. Amid the wave of titles, there is still more on the horizon. Earlier in 2025, it was announced that Age of Empire II: Definitive Edition is set to arrive for PlayStation 5 this spring also.

In a recent announcement, World’s Edge confirms the game is set to arrive this May. It will launch alongside a new DLC, ‘The Three Kingdoms’. “Experience stunning 4K Ultra HD graphics, a fully remastered soundtrack, and three expansions now included with the base game: Lords of the West, Dynasties of India, and Dawn of the Dukes,” the overview reads.

The synopsis continues: “Explore all the original Campaigns alongside best-selling expansions like never before. With over 200 hours of gameplay and 1,000 years of human history, your definitive Age of Empires II experience awaits! Head online to challenge other players in your quest for world domination with more than 45 different Civilizations.”

The DLC description shares: “Created by Forgotten Empires, the passionate team bringing you Age of Empires content for over a decade, The Three Kingdoms is a DLC set in China primarily during the early medieval period, but also featuring two civilizations who rose and fell hundreds of years later. China’s Three Kingdoms, extremely advanced for their time, offer AoE II: DE players the game’s core unit roster along with several unique and region-specific units highlighting the iconic features of each kingdom.”
