Alike The Original, Nintendo Will Offer Free First-Time Repairs For Nintendo Switch 2

On the up & up leading to the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, many questions surrounding how the new console will operate was answered then. Fundamental improvements to the new iterated Nintendo Switch offers a suite of features including a new GameChat mechanic, an improved Dock, a larger 7.9 LCD screen, and next generation Joy-Con 2 controllers.

Additionally, there was also some clarifying on other concerns surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2. To meet availability, the firm has implemented protocols to outpace the growing concern of resellers. Atop of that, those concerned about first-party titles coming incomplete was also pressed on. It confirmed that the Switch 2 version of legacy titles will be completely on the new cartridge.

Now after release, there is the question on how practical the system will be in the long-term. Reflecting on the original Joy-Con controllers, the lifespan was too short than desired. And similar to its commitment on a free, first-time repair, the same can now be applied to the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con 2 as well.

“At this time, we’re setting up your service request free of charge. If the problem with the product is not a manufacturer’s defect, we’ll contact you to arrange payment,” the support page reads when submitting for a replacement. “Product is replaced […] Estimated turnaround time is 8 – 14 business days from the time you ship your product.” 

A disclaimer on the page also added: “Please do not send your console (the part of the system with a display screen). It will be returned to you in the same condition it was received.” In the past, we’ve seen other firms bring more options to resolve breaking gamepads.
