It’s an unusual year for EA Sports games with COVID having an impact on development and reveals. Today, August 24 we finally got the first look into NHL 21 as opposed to a June reveal during the NHL Rewards, but it’s safe to say many hardcore fans are happy.

The cover athlete for this NHL title is Washington Capitals forward, Alexander Ovechkin known as one of the best goal scorers in the National Hockey League.
“It’s a huge honor to be on the cover of NHL 21 for the second time in my career,” said Alex Ovechkin in a press release. “More importantly, I’m glad I’m looking just as good on the cover this year as I did in 2007!”
With NHL 21 there will be a Standard, Deluxe and Great Eight Edition. We don’t know the exact prices for these yet, but we can assume they will range from $60.00 USD through $120.00 USD.

From the trailer that we received today we had teases of new moves and features that are being implemented into fan favorite game modes such as Be A Pro.
In Be A Pro you will be able to experience what it’s like to bond with your teammates and the media in your dressing room. This will help you bring up your reputation as a player in whichever league you are in whether it’s CHL, NHL, or Europe.
Here are other new additions coming to NHL 21:
- HUT RUSH
- World of CHEL Introduces Club Finals And Practice Mode
- Franchise Mode Gets A Trade Deadline Frenzy Minigame
- Server selection for private matches
- New Dekes
What do you think of these changes coming to NHL 21?
It’s worthy to note that NHL 21 will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This EA Sports title will not be available on PC.
