Evidence Surfaces On Modern Version For The Original The Wolf Among Us

One of gaming’s biggest promises was made in 2019. After the studio’s abrupt closure and later return, Telltale Games announced The Wolf Among Us 2 is in development. However, when that game is coming has yet to be fully realized still more than half a decade later. In 2022, the developer shared a trailer for the highly-anticipated sequel slated for release in 2023 the following year.

Despite being hopeful in the announcement from the game studio, a delay was issued to be set for after 2023 instead. That fall, Telltale Games was hit with studio layoffs which only left many worried about the state of the game. And with little updates on the game going into 2024, stress only grew. In October of that year, Telltale Games confirmed that The Wolf Among Us 2 is still in active development to reassure patient fans.

Fast-forward to 2026, The Wolf Among Us 2 is still being made. Despite the longing for more of the IP, it appears that a modern release for 2013’s The Wolf Among Us is in the works which could hold fans off that are still waiting for the sequel. From MP1st, it is understood that The Wolf Among Us is in development likely for Nintendo Switch & Nintendo Switch 2. The outlet also doesn’t rule out Xbox Series X|S/PlayStation 5 being possible too.

Corroborating with Argentinian publication Press Over, the game is being co-developed by Trick Studio. Previously, the developer has partnered with Telltale Games on The Expanse which shipped back in 2023. In the investigation, images gathered on the development confirm to be Ichabod Crane’s office from Episode 1.

This is not the first time we’ve seen Telltale Games’ releases came in with a new energy. In 2019, Telltale Games shipped ‘Telltale Batman: Shadows Edition’ which came as a complete version of the game for new hardware at the time. You can read the full report by heading here.
