This month, the chilling Halloween season approaches with new releases to occupy players until All Hollow’s Eve. As part of that, Sony Interactive Entertainment with Ballistic Moon shipped 2015’s Until Dawn on PlayStation 5 & PC. Moreover, there is also a live-action film that is currently underway as well over at PlayStation Studios too.
According to a new development on the IP, it appears a sequel is moving forward at PlayStation Studios. As per Xbox Era leaker Nick Baker, he shares in a post on X corroborating the report by Eurogamer on a second game is in development. He 1-ups the article by elaborating on the developer for the new game to be Firesprite Games.
Back in 2021, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced its plans to acquire the British game studio. Since then, the developer has focused its energy on PlayStation VR 2. Thus far, it has done so with the platform launch title Horizon: Call of the Mountain. But despite the developer shipping one game since its buyout, players are interested what the next game will be.
Moreover on a sequel for Until Dawn, players of the new Unreal Engine 5 remaster uncovered a new ending that opens for a sequel to stem from there on. But with Firespite reportedly attached to the project, it does open more opportunity for the IP. Perhaps the new title will be through a first-person point of view or even an exclusive release for PlayStation VR 2?
What do you hope Until Dawn 2 entails?
