Just last week it was unearthed that the first tangible evidence for the previously rumored Mafia II ‘remastered’ was in fact true according to a listing on a Korean Ratings Board. However, while prior claims disclosed a rework for the 2010 was in the works, there were no mentions of the same treatment being provided to the following sequel, Mafia III.

Now in a new discovery on a Ratings Board based in Taiwan, we get another listing for Mafia II: Definitive Edition alongside a listing for Mafia III: Definitive Edition interestingly enough. The Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee discloses that both projects are listed for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

While it is understandable to witness the preceding entry to receive a polished version for newer systems, Mafia III actually released for this current generation of console hardware. So the incentive swaying a definitive edition for the later 2016 title is less transparent on the base surface to say the least.

However, there is the slight chance that developer Hanger 13/publisher 2K aimed to rebound from the initial release of Mafia III due to technical issues that plagued the title. Problems like game crashes, inconsistent frame rates, and evident texture popping are just some to name from instances that players faced years prior. But since then, the game has been tweaked to playable which doesn’t compromise the experience as it once did.

Players can also expect that with the definitive edition for Mafia II – the same version for the follow-up will also include the added on content for the game. Again, fans would receive cosmetic, in-game items to decorate Clay alongside story DLCs like Faster, Baby, Stones Unturned, and Sign of the Times.

Which definitive edition would you decide on getting when officially announced?
