Our first glimpse of Perfect World’s Magic: Legends at The Game Awards left us captivated and intrigued. It is the first time the IP is venturing into the MMO arena, and the cinematic trailer left a lot to the imagination.

That changed this week when Game Informer revealed the first gameplay trailer as part of their January cover story. Just to recap, Magic: Legends will allow you to play alone or up to 4 players in a co-op format. You will build a deck of 12 cards, but four of those will be active abilities. It has been revealed that other cards will be used at random, but no further explanation has been released clarifying exactly how this will be.

It’s a brand new setup, and the fact that it will be free to play is also intriguing. The game uses a Diablo style top down format as well. Check out the trailer below, and Magic: Legends will be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One later this year.
