Mario Kart Tour is shutting down on September 29

Nintendo announced today that Mario Kart Tour is officially shutting down. The game will go offline on September 29, 2026 at 11 PM PT and September 30 at 2 AM ET.

The game is completely ending. Nintendo mentions there are no plans for an offline version. The complete opposite to Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp which did get a complete version.

“Service for the Mario Kart Tour game ends on Sept. 29 at 11:00 p.m. PT / Sept. 30 at 8:00 a.m. CEST.

Thank you for your support throughout the years.”

The sales of rubies in Mario Kart Tour has concluded. Existing rubies can be used in the Spotlight Shop, Mii Racing Suit Shop, and Coin Rush until the service ends.

Nintendo also gave more information about the Gold Pass and that automatic subscription renewals have stopped:

“We stopped all automatic subscription renewals and new subscriptions to the Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass during the maintenance that was held at 11:00 p.m. PT on July 7, 2026, in conjunction with the game’s end of service at 11:00 p.m. PT on September 29, 2026.”

From August 4, 2026 to September 29, 2026, players can enjoy Mario Kart Tour Pass benefits, excluding continuous subscription benefits, for free.

Mario Kart Tour released in September 2019 for mobile via iOS and Android devices. On just its first day of release it accumulated 20 million downloads.
