With the release of the Underdark expansion on PC last year, and next week February 9th on Xbox One, Perfect World has announced the 9th expansion for Neverwinter in the Maze Engine expansion. It follows the events of the Underdark expansion and the defeat of the Demogorgon.
Even with the defeat of the Demogorgon, some demons are still sneaking into the land led by Baphomet and Orcus, two of the most evil enemies in the world of Neverwinter. Allies from previous expansions like Minsc, Boo, Battlehammer and Regis will all join forces in an effort to expel both Baphoment and Orcus from the realm. The expansion will also include a new campaign called the Stable, which focuses on mounts, as well as five dungeons returning to the game. These dungeons were removed with the addition of the Sharandar campaign in order to rework them for five player runs. The main dungeon, Castle Never, is completely revamped and occupied by Orcus now that we have expelled Valindra.
There are no release dates as of yet, but PC players will be able to get their hands on it this Spring, with Xbox One users “at a later date”. We’ll keep you updated as we hear more, but in the meantime take a look at what Orcus and Baphomet bring to the table in Neverwinter below.
