Many Assassin’s Creed fans have been waiting to see what is coming next in the series. Well before we talk about the actual game let me remind you that the movie is coming this December and that should get fans excited. So it turns out that an Assassin’s Creed game may not be possible for a 2017 launch.
Ubisoft’s VP of Editorial, Tommy François has stated that the team wants to make sure that the next entry to the franchise is as polished as possible, and that the alpha phase would need to be done a full year before the game is actually released in order to provide adequate time to produce a complete, polished experience. All that could delay the game further than 2017.
“We believe Alpha for these games needs to be one year before release. We’re trying to achieve that. That’s super f****** blunt, I don’t even know if I’m allowed to say this. This is the goal we’re going for: Alpha one year before, more quality, more polish.
“So if this means biting the [bullet] and not having an Assassin’s game, or a Far Cry [in 2017], f*** it.”
As most fans of the series know that 2016 was the first year in about 6 or so years that an Assassin’s Creed did not launch and we could possibly skip another year. It wouldn’t be a bad idea as Ubisoft can make it the best one it can be. The next Assassin’s Creed game promises to be a revolutionary entry to the series. The Assassin’s Creed Ezio Collection should keep fans busy for a while.
