While commercial conglomerate Amazon continues to support its up-and-coming cloud video game platform Luna, the firm is still occupied with delivering what might be its first big hit release, New World. Unlike prior projects that surfaced over at Amazon Game Studios, New World slowly evolved into an expansive and fun MMO experience that players who got access to the beta playtest express excitement for the full release.
Of course, New World technically could have been out already, but was delayed on more than one account. The most recent took place back in February which announced that New World is pushing its release from the scheduled spring 2021 launch window to August in the latter half of the year. But now it appears that is not achievable following the game’s beta last month.
In a new letterhead from the New World team, it is official that New World will be arriving in late September, delaying the game once more.
“We are humbled by the support New World received from players around the world throughout Closed Beta. […] The passion and enthusiasm you’ve shown for New World validates the work we’ve put in over the past year, improving the game based on your feedback.” The team goes onto apologize on the extended wait for New World later on in the letterhead.
“This was not an easy decision to make. We know this is not the first time we’ve changed our launch date in pursuit of quality, and that it can be disappointing to wait a bit longer,” the team explains. “But we want to be sure we deliver you the highest quality game possible at launch. Thank you so much for your support and feedback.”
However, the wait is surely reduced now aware of what compromises require the team’s attention. Additionally, the New World studio is not alone on this one either. Previously, it was announced that Relentless Games after shutting down Crucible would be pursuing New World as a support team leading up to its release. You can read the full report by heading here.
Are you fine waiting an additional month for New World?
New World ships for PC on September 28, 2021.
