When it comes to developer GameMill Entertainment, the quality of the titles it puts out is put into question. Although the firm is offered an enriched library of IPs – especially with Nickelodeon – it can be mishandled. Give our review for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants, saying it “is a game that fails to capture the magic of its source material. It’s a repetitive slog that offers little in the way of entertainment value.”
However, the tables can flip as it did in our review for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2: “Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 has enjoyable gameplay for a fighting game and addresses the issues of its predecessor. It is a worthwhile addition to the fighting game genre. We would have preferred if all characters from the first game were included in the sequel, as it ended quickly.”
At Summer Game Fest, GameMill Entertainment returns with a new project attached to the Nickelodeon brand once more, Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:
“Journey across Nickelodeon-inspired fantasy lands on a grand quest inspired by tabletop RPGs in Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny! Slash, bash, cast spells, and strategize your way to victory against a variety of enemies in fast-paced and fluid ARPG combat. Upgrade your weapons and master new abilities in solo play and local co-op for up to four players,” the description reads.
From the trailer, there is an emphasis on playable SpongeBob, but given the titling of the game, it can also be understood other believed Nickelodeon characters will also make an appearance as well. “Attack from afar with a Bubble Blast, restore health using a Pretty Patty, and transform into a Goofy Goober to deal massive damage.” the overview for SpongeBob SquarePants reads.
Are you looking forward to Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny?
