Blizzard Entertainment should be proud of themselves because the Overwatch Beta topped 9.7 million players across Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. The Overwatch beta came to an end on May 10 and saw over 37 million matches played and 81 million hours spent with the game.

“We’re thrilled that such an incredible number of players from around the globe got a chance to check outOverwatch during the Open Beta,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “Our mission was to make sure as many console and PC gamers as possible could experience the full game ahead of its launch—the response was overwhelming, and we hope that everyone had a blast.”

You can add Overwatch to the one of the most popular betas this year beating both Destiny and The Division‘s total, pre-release player count – 4.6 and 6.4 million. Of course Destiny was at a different time and was not available on PC.
Overwatch launches for PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4 on May 24th.
