This year, 2025 marks the 45th anniversary of the release for the classic arcade title Pac-Man. And, Bandai Namco has not shied away from entertaining interesting collaborations for the IP. Earlier this year, we witnessed the addition of the titular character to Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz. Atop of that, there has been interesting food partnerships like Maruchan & Krispy Kreme also giving Pac-Man the spotlight.
Bandai Namco even went a step further with the announcement of its own Pac-Man balloon for the upcoming 99th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade later this month. As for fans of the games itself, there was also the recent release of Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac which further reinvigorates the classic GameCube-era title once more.
Now in a surprise reveal from the recent PlayStation State of Play, there is a new ‘Sonic the Hedgehog Collaboration Set’ that is available for Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac right now. The add-on is priced separately for $11.99. You can watch the trailer for the DLC in the video below:
“Gotta Chomp Fast! The Hungry Hero and the Blue Blur have teamed up in the Sonic the Hedgehog Collaboration Set, now available as paid DLC for Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac!” Bandai Namco writes for the DLC synopsis in the YouTube description. The add-on includes content such as a new explorable area, 3 Sonic-themed stages, 20 collectible figures, and a Sonic the Hedgehog Pac-Man costume.
This is not the wildest collab for Sonic the Hedgehog, however. Recently, Sega revealed a crossover with its Blue Blur mascot and navigation app Waze to feature the character as a traveling assistant. It was also confirmed the voice actor Roger Craig Smith is to reprise his role for the collaboration. You can read the full report by heading here.
