Famed EA CEO Peter Moore finally says “goodbye” to the gaming industry after 18 years to become the CEO of Liverpool FC. Less than two months ago, the popular English soccer club named Moore to his new position and he will report to his new boss, the Fenway Sports Group.
He also had his stints with Sega and the Dreamcast, Microsoft and the original Xbox and Xbox 360, and EA Sports. Moore gained some notoriety with his tattoos of Halo 2 and Grand Theft Auto IV, supporting those games during his time at Microsoft.
While the move may come as a bit abrupt from video games to sports, Moore was born in Liverpool and has heavily promoted FIFA during his time with EA. So to some, this should come as no surprise.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson said Moore will “leave an incredible legacy” for the company and the industry.
