Following the release of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice back in March, fans despite the evident learning curve for the newest title praised the game and it showed as the title exceeded two million sold copies in its first two weeks. Looking at the popularity that surrounded the game, many anticipated that a possible DLC story or some sort of expansion would fall in the coming months after the game’s initial release, but that might not be the case for this one.

According to a rumor from ResetEra user taepoppuri, the expected downloadable content for the action adventure has not started development and does not expect the alleged content to ever truly drop for Sekiro.

“There’s no one working on Sekiro DLC,” the user states. “I don’t think they’ll do it after Elden Ring releases either.”

The same user also speculates that the development for any content for the game if it was in the works was overshadowed by the latest project in collaboration with Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin. That even following the upcoming title’s launch, FromSoftware will not return to making content for the March-released game.

On top of the statement from the ResetEra user, website administrator Nibel verifies that the information he got on the Sekiro DLC is “a good source”; which only solidifies the chances of not seeing future content coming to the game. Nonetheless, this is still a rumor as no official word from FromSoftware has been admitted to confirm if DLC will come to Sekiro or not.
