What feels like a hiatus for a new defining skateboarding simulator is still underway, there are engrossing titles in development that could fill those shoes – at least, some that might keep you occupied for the time being. In that, SkateBIRD acted to be a plausible possibility since its announcement more than a year ago. However, there has been hurdles that the team has faced in its development pipeline.
In 2020, Glass Bottom Games shared that the amount of time it obtained for its promised release window was not enough resulting in an effective delay bleeding into 2021. But, it was not until this summer that the developer pressed the game is to release this week. Howbeit, the Seattle team recently announced that an issue with the game’s code leaves the team needing a couple more weeks to properly polish the title.
The game studio went on to post a delay trailer to portray the upsetting reality of waiting almost another month for the game. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
“Ok, first the bummer news: we’re delaying to September 16! Sorry! Why? Usual reasons. Shipping a game is hard,” explains SkateBIRD creator Megan Fox. “Hit some bugs, SDK stuff where the old code worked but the new one suddenly didn’t, you get the idea. Gave us more time to polish other stuff though, so that’s nice!”
In other recent skateboarding video game news, publisher Nacon announced to be acquiring Session developer Crea-ture Studios. The Canadian team was said to be a new opportunity for the team to further work on Session and “more exciting games.” You can read the full report by heading here.
Are you fine waiting a few more weeks for SkateBIRD?
