More than a month now, there has been word of a demo for the long-awaited and highly-anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake which many have suspected would release sometime inching closer to the game’s arrival. Ever since the game’s delay pushing the launch date into April, it would be a more suiting decision for fans who will have to continue waiting for the title to officially release.

In the process of the days ticking down, dataminers who managed to pick up the supposed demo through a short timeframe it was available in selected regions discovered some juicy details that have yet to properly be announced. One being that there are symptoms of a PC version imbedded in the game’s code: seeing that the exclusivity is only limited to a year, it is expected for the game to arrive to other platforms follow suit.

Now today, Square Enix in an unexpected announcement has shared that the demo is live now fir PlayStation 4 owners to install. The playtest looks to be an estimated 90 GB according to the PlayStation Store, so fans eager to pick up the demo will have to clean up some space on their hard drive to do so.

Square Enix in the announcement post for the demo shares that the brief demo of the game will have you play as Cloud Strife, as you would expect. The course of the experience looks to be following the showing of the game from E3 last year which presented the bombing of Mako Reactor 1. Additionally, the player will also be introduced to Barret Wallace who will accompany Cloud as a playable character in the efforts of fighting the Shinra security forces.

The company aware of fan anticipation for the game cites that the game will be available for users to repeat several times. “You can always play it again. And again. And again.” So for those who are antsy to get their hands on this game coming a little more than a month away should go download the demo as soon as possible.

Are you planning on downloading the demo for Final Fantasy VII Remake.
