Ted Price announces retirement after 30 years at Insomniac Games

On Wednesday, January 22, Ted Price, the founder and president at Insomniac Games announced he will be retiring from the studio. After 30 years of helping Insomniac create iconic games like Ratchet & Clank, Sunset Overdrive, Spider-Man, and more he will be stepping down in March 2025.

“Therefore, last week, I felt comfortable announcing to the Insomniac team that after having been incredibly fortunate to enjoy such a fulfilling career in games, I’ll be retiring from the industry at the end of March. Today, I’m sharing this news more broadly.

I actually made this decision last year. For me, after over 30 years of leading Insomniac, I felt it was simply time to step aside and let others pave the way for our team. “

Ted Price announced that Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang will become Insomniac Games’ new Co-Studio heads. Price continues and says he is confident that Insomniac will continue to bring the industry defining games that players have come to expect from them under the new leadership.

As for what Insomniac Games has coming next, one of its most-anticipated games that was announced a few years ago is Wolverine. The studio has not provided an update on the PS5 exclusive yet, but we should be getting closer to seeing more of this game.
