For those that recall back to the starting week of November, developer Treyarch pushed the first post-launch campaign of content for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The string of additions included the welcoming return of Nuketown with a new ‘84 spin which redecorates the classic, decade-old map. However, the firm did disclose the update would come before the inevitable transition of Call of Duty: Warzone to the latest installment.

However, the transition for Modern Warfare (2019) to Black Ops Cold War received a slight push. Instead of its initial December 10 arrival, the update will now be coming six days following now slated for Wednesday, December 16. Even more, Treyarch during the 2020 annual Game Awards unveiled a first-look at the approaching Season One.

You can watch the Season One reveal trailer in the video below:

To address the elephant in the room, Warzone will be arriving with a new map: Rebirth Island. The location will incorporate classic Black Ops-era settings into one large region. And with a new map also comes with a new and suiting Gulag for players to earn their redemption. Of course, new weapons are also included with the Groza assault rifle, Mac-10 submachine gun, and Streetsweeper shotgun.

In addition, new operators are welcomed: Zeyna, Stitch, and Bulldozer. The new trio among others are playable in both Warzome and regular multiplayer. For the traditional online, Treyarch also debuts maps The Pines, Nuketown ’84 Holiday, Raid, and Sanatorium. Matchmaking also welcomes back Prop Hunt and new Dropkick game mode.

There is also the addition of the Tactical Raft vehicle and H.A.R.P. scorestreak. Zombie also gets some love with both the Cranked and Jingle Hells modes arriving as well. Those that pick up the Season One Battle Pass are expected to find unique goodies and other in-game items as well. Are you excited for Season One arriving this week?

Season One arrives on December 16, 2020; Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is out now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
