Amid the continued path Ubisoft is taking in regards to a potential buyout as of recent reports, the publisher is still adamant on the direction for Assassin’s Creed. Earlier this fall, it was confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will now launch in February 2025. What’s more, the firm did roll out this week a 60hz free update for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate on both Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5.
According to InsiderGaming, Ubisoft’s plans for Assassin’s Creed accounts for nearly a dozen internal projects. It is said at least 10 different games are planned after the new release this winter. Even more, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is also planned to launch a new interface for the series – Animus Hub. Alike Call of Duty HQ, a new connected domain will be launching which intertwines future releases.
In a new development over on Reddit, Ubisoft confirms that plans for Animus Hub is not a new approach to shoehorn in more in-game purchases & microtransactions. In fact, it is stated that plans for Animus Hub will include more free content for players that continue to play games through it. “Hello everyone. It has come to our attention that inaccurate rumors have been circulating online regarding the upcoming Animus Hub (ex-codename Infinity).”
The post continues: “We wanted to take this occasion to clarify that:
- All the rewards available in the Animus Hub will be entirely free.
- There are no paid subscriptions or paid battle pass featured in the Animus Hub.
- Players will have access to regular content & missions at no extra cost.”
Among plans for Animus Hub now fully disclosed, Ubisoft has also been vocal on what other Assassin’s Creed projects are underway. In a previous financial report, CEO Yves Guillemot announced that remakes for the series are in the pipeline for its original installments. You can read the full report by heading here.
