CD Projekt Red was one of the first major third-party developers to release its game on the Nintendo Switch 2. What stuck out the most was that Cyberpunk 2077 was released as a true physical game, meaning the entire game was on the Switch 2 cartridge. As opposed to a game like Street Fighter 6, which was just a game key card.
The developer revealed via their group financial results that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on Switch 2 was one of the best-selling third-party games. They also revealed that 75 percent of Cyberpunk 2077 sales on Switch 2 were physical copies, with 25 percent being digital sales.

There has been a lot of controversy in the passionate Nintendo community about game key cards and true physical games. More than half of the third-party publishers have taken the game key route, while only a handful chose to release their game in full on the cartridge.
The latest game that was revealed to have a true physical on Switch 2 was Yooka Re-Playlee, which is planned to release later this year.
