It was more than a year ago now that Crysis Remastered was announced. In collaboration with porting team Saber Interactive, the firm brought the hardware-taxing release to the new plethora of consoles – even including the Nintendo Switch. But, there are still two other Crysis games that many players anticipate to receive the same treatment later on.

In fact, publisher Crytek even disclosed plans to ship a remastered version for both Crysis 2 & Crysis 3 already. According to a conversation from a closed-door meeting, the remaster plans were on the table alongside, the report also suggested Crytek mapping out plans for Crysis VR and even a battle royale project as well. The remastered games were indicated to release independently followed by a ‘Crysis Collection’ later on.

According to Crytek, Crysis Remastered Trilogy is officially on the way and Saber Interactive is returning to get the work done. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:

“The Crysis Remastered Trilogy features the single-player remasters of Crysis, Crysis 2, and Crysis 3, optimized in partnership with Saber Interactive for today’s consoles and PC hardware,” Crytek writes in the announcement. “The three-game bundle will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and for PC, with the game playing even smoother on next gen PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

“Crysis Remastered is available for these platforms now, and the remasters of Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 will also be made available separately.” Although advertised for the latest Xbox and PlayStation systems, Crytek does specify it is operating via backwards compatibility for the respected platforms.

However, Crytek in the past did patch in dedicated Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 support in post-launch for Crysis Remastered. So it is best to assume the same work is to be applied to the remaining releases for the trilogy when it arrives. You can read the full report by heading here.

Crysis Remastered Trilogy arrives sometime in fall 2021 to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC; playable via backwards compatibility on Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5.
