Although the Halo IP since its inception nearly two decades ago this November has shown to be an industry pusher, fans are seeing many of the DNA for the game missing in its latest releases. With 2015’s Halo 5: Guardians, it was revealed then that the title would not ship with Forge Mode at launch. But unfortunately, the same is applied to Halo Infinite this December as well and that applies to co-op campaign for the game too.

Despite the long-yearned drought for a rebound in Halo since Bungie left the franchise for Destiny, inspired projects has been the answer for many fans. With the PC “El Dewrito” previously, that fueled the cries for Halo on PC which 343 Industries later answered to in full. But now, many fans and new are keeping their eyes aimed at 1047’s Splitgate: Arena Warfare.

Most recently, the game shipped its Season 0 on PC and consoles. However, in response to a tweet from @KFCGaming, the developer snapped at Halo by announcing that it is planning to ship its own map editor for Splitgate before Halo Infinite plans to release its own.

Although there is no certainty how the mode will pan out for Splitgate, 1047 Games shares that is plans for the map editor is to be a liberating experience for its players. In response to a questioning fan, the team told, “We probably won’t call it forge mode, but it’s a map editor.” Adding, “Imagine placing portal pads anywhere you wanted on Olympus!”

While many are still hoping Halo Infinite is to be the game that many are hoping it will be, there is a second Halo Infinite Multiplayer Flight on the way. 343 Industries is planning to host the playtest later this week on September 24. You can read the full report by heading here.
