So far for Square Enix’s Octopath Traveler, the once codenamed ‘Project Octopath Traveler’ later broke away from the project title and delivered an in-depth RPG experience that branches between eight different characters which the name implies. More notably is what came following its release like arriving to Google Stadia later on.
Additionally, the series also received a mobile prequel later on which still remains unique to the platform only in Japan. The most eye-opening is how the game was ported to Xbox One & Xbox Game Pass. After the release, Square Enix was pressed for a comment on PlayStation 4 which the firm would not address if Sony’s platform can expect the same later on.
Back in February, Square Enix resurfaced to unveil Project Triangle Strategy: a top-down RPG with heavy elements similar in comparison to Octopath Traveler. The game was revealed alongside a demo which the firm in a new trailer announces adjustments to the overall experience. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
“We’re grateful to have received a lot of responses from people all over the world, and are very glad as developers to have gotten positive feedback and suggestions from each region,” Producers Yasuaki Arai & Tomoya Asano write. “We’re working on various improvements for the final version of Triangle Strategy, based on the responses to the survey.” It is said that 1 million downloads for the demo was made by September 2021.
In total, Square Enix has adjusted many fundamental mechanics for the game such as game difficulty, loading times, and camera controls. Quality of life adjustments were also made for the experience which include skip & auto-play features for combat conversations and combat respectively as well.
