Xbox Series X|S & Xbox One To Receive Shorter Boot Up Animation In Coming Update

When it comes to Xbox in improving speeds when on the newest consoles, users have found improvements gradually ship for the Xbox Series machines. In March 2021, Microsoft shipped out a feature to suspend games running in the background via Quick Resume. The tool enable games that were not being utilized to “Suspend” additional data use to boost consumption where it could benefit the player most.

Additionally, Quick Resume itself faced its own specified update in a later patchwork release that same year. By May 2021, Quick Resume on Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S faced improved load times to get users back into the game. The team even added the option to categorize which games use the feature and is currently running in the background as well.

This week, The Verge reports that load times when booting up the console from a cold boot is significantly faster than before. It turns out that Microsoft has shortened the boot-up animation when powering on for Xbox Insiders Alpha Ring members.

From Xbox Director of Integrated Marketing Josh Munsee, he shares that the wait has been cut in half compared to its original wait time. “Can confirm […] create[d] a shorter boot up animation (~4s) from the original boot up animation (~9s), helping to reduce the overall startup time.” Not only that, but the update has also been enabled for Xbox One as well which showed signs of improvement too.

“This is rolling out with the latest builds to @xboxinsider – not only is the animation shorter, but Xbox One generation consoles are booting noticeably faster with these changes!” says Josh Rosenberg, Xbox Senior Product Manager.
