Content updates in GTA Online has & continues to be a highlight for the multiplayer experience more than a decade since it was first introduced. In 2025, it was no different. Back in March, GTA Online was met with the ‘Oscar Guzman Flies Again‘ update that brought a new meaning to trafficking. Additionally, ‘Money Fronts‘ for GTA Online welcomed new ventures in the money laundering effort as well.
Following into the latter half of 2025, GTA Online was early on zombies returning to the game. In late August, ‘Cayo Perico Survival Mode’ was added adding waves of the living dead to the tropical vista. And, the latest update – A Safehouse in the Hills – was one of the biggest features for GTA Online expanding the storyline of Michael De Santa as well as offering mansions for purchase finally.
Now 2026 is here and GTA Online is adding new content to keep players engaged amid the wait for Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar Mission Creator is a new pipeline of community-generated missions that brings new ways to play GTA Online curated directly from those who actively invest into GTA Online.
“The Rockstar Mission Creator is the latest expansion to our suite of innovative, in-depth tools empowering the community to unleash their creativity and bring their own GTA Online adventures to life. Play a wide range of exciting missions across Los Santos and Blaine County, produced and shared by the brilliantly gifted GTA Online Creator community,” Rockstar Games writes.
“You can build countless narrative experiences to play and share in GTA Online with the Mission Creator. Perhaps a hostage negotiation goes sideways at the Pacific Standard bank? Or a holdup results in a multi-vehicle chase across Los Santos, complete with cinematic cutscenes and an explosive finale befitting a Richards Majestic blockbuster? Let your imagination run wild.” The developer even teamed up with GTA Series Videos on the ‘Old School Hits’ inspired by the classic GTA trilogy.
“Bump off a trio of high-profile targets in Old School Hits, a loving homage to three classics from the original Grand Theft Auto trilogy and our first featured Community Mission utilizing the new Rockstar Mission Creator. […] We’ve teamed up with the talented and long-time Rockstar supporters at GTA Series Videos on Old School Hits, the debut entry in the Community Mission Series.”
