Many fans of MLG (Major League Gaming) received sad news regarding one of the biggest esports platforms, GameBattles. It was announced a week ago that GameBattles will be shutting down in 2024 after years of providing competition to players around the world featuring many games.

Loyal members of GameBattles started receiving emails today that says “After careful consideration, we have decided to shut down the GameBattles platform service as of January 15, 2024”.

You can still enjoy the GameBattles platform and compete in daily tournaments for Modern Warfare III, but come the new year it will officially end for good.

This move is interesting as it comes a month after Microsoft officially acquired Activision Blizzard which would mean Microsoft also owns the MLG brand.
