NBA 2K27 Ships For XBOX Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, PC This September

It is officially sports game season for the industry. Next month, EA Sports’ Madden NFL 27 is set to release. The game features Chicago Bears’ Caleb Williams for this year’s cover athlete. Additionally, NHL 27 is also on the way. The newest annual installment will have San Jose Sharks’ Macklin Celebrini for its cover athlete when it ships in September 11th.

Another Electronic Arts game on the way is EA Sports FC 27. Scheduled to release September 25th, this year’s release will feature Real Madrid soccer superstar Kylian Mbappé. This will be the 4th time that Mbappé will star on the cover of FIFA/EA Sports FC. Of course, fans are anticipating the reveal of NBA 2K27. Last year’s NBA 2K26 hosted Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for the cover athlete then.

This week, 2K & Visual Concepts officially announced NBA 2K27. This time, San Antonio Spurs Center Victor Wembanyama, Indiana Fever Guard Caitlin Clark, and Chicago Bulls MVP Derrick Rose will be the cover athletes for the Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate editions respectively. “Being on the cover of NBA 2K27 is special because this game reaches fans all over the world,” Clark issued in her own statement. To be the first WNBA player on her own global cover means women’s basketball gets to show up on that stage too, and I am proud to be part of that.” Derrick Rose also shares excitement for returning as a cover athlete after being featured on NBA 2K13.

“During my journey there have been coaches who believed in me, teammates who made me better, and fans who showed up louder than I ever expected. So, this is a chance to inspire young athletes to stay obsessed with the game. To show them that when you put in the countless hours of hard work, it rewards you.”
