When it came to the release of Halo Infinite, the story happened to be one of the most glowing aspects of its long-awaited arrival. In our review, we wrote: “Halo Infinite has finally arrived. The story-line and the direction of its plot and characters have made big leaps from previous games that 343 have created.” And now, the game is evolving once more in its online most recently with plans to drop its seasonal approach moving forward, 343 Industries revealed.

Moving ahead, there were ongoing rumors that a battle royale project from Certain Affinity was in the works for years. However, one report suggests the effort is no more and likely has been moved aside for the next entry. Corroborating development on the next release, it was revealed via a LinkedIn profile that development started since 2022 on a new, unannounced game. The report also shares Unreal Engine 5 is being utilized in development too.

What’s more is if Halo is to continue its story beyond Halo Infinite, it needs to feature the return of The Arbiter. In Halo 5: Guardians, the character makes an appearance by the end of the game. But is not featured in Halo Infinite. Excitingly, however, voice actor Keith David did express he’s eager to voice the character again in a response on X recently.

At least the earliest many could hope with The Arbiter’s return for anything Halo would be in Season 2 of the Paramount+ show. As fans following are aware, the new season coming in February follows close to the events for The Fall of Reach. And it does leave a window for the character to make any form of cameo. While it is not concrete, it is possible. The only other concern would be if David would reprise the role or not since it appears he hasn’t done the role as per his response.

Of course, the more likeliest chance is in the next mainline installment. However, there are little details surrounding where the next Halo is going for its story. The most gathered for post-Halo Infinite is the trademark by Microsoft is for ‘The Endless’. You can read the full report by heading here.
