During EA Play, it was announced that EA would begin a new program entitled ‘EA Originals’. This program will seek out talent in the indie developer community to find games that are “unique, gorgeous, innovative and memorable”.  EA will help fund the games through the whole development process, marketing and publishing. It was also stated by Patrick Soderlund, the executive vice president of EA Studios, that more profits would go to the developers.
The official description for the program states that “EA Originals is about finding great new games that we know players are going to love, and working with small developers to make sure those games get discovered and into the hands of players.”
The first game announced to be a part of this program is Fe, developed by Swedish based company Zoink Games. Fe is an emotionally and narrative driven game in which you play as a cub who awakens alone in a forest with no idea who you are or how you got there. Check out the trailer below for what I felt was one of the more promising titles showcased at EA’s event.
