Age Of Empire II: Definitive Edition To Feature New PlayStation 5 Release In Spring 2025

This past year, developer World’s Edge has delivered more than a generous helping to its users. In that, 2024 featured new games to different degrees. On conventional platforms, there was Age of Mythology: Retold. “Age of Mythology: Retold stands as the ultimate way to experience a beloved classic, combining the timeless appeal of the original game with a host of modern enhancements,” Rectify Gaming in our review for the game shared.

Additionally, the series also expanded to a new platform this past fall as well. In that, Age of Empires Mobile also rolled out. In collaboration with Timi Studios, World’s Edge was able to offer a new flavor of the classic Age of Empires experience whilst also providing a new interpretation that embraces the tropes of the franchise.

Recently, it was revealed that Age of Mythology: Retold will be welcoming a PlayStation 5 version later this March. Paired alongside DLC ‘Infinite Pillars’, fans of the September 2024 release have more to look forward to. In the same announcement, it was also revealed that Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is to also feature its own version on PlayStation 5 too.

“This spring, the globally beloved Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will make its debut on PlayStation 5. Alongside this release, we’ll be dropping one of the most exciting DLC expansions for Age II: DE yet, packed with fresh new content, new civilizations for Ranked play, and ready for all players to enjoy together across all platforms – PC, Xbox , and PlayStation 5,” the blog post reveals.

Microsoft is to offer a very active spring for PlayStation 5 users. In January, Playground Games revealed that Forza Horizon 5 is also planning to make its debut on PlayStation 5 as well sometime in spring 2025. You can read the full report by heading here.
