Mafia: The Old Country is going to release on August 8, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. 2K Games and Hanger 13 accidentally posted the release date via a Steam blog post that talks about the upcoming PAX East 2025 developer panel in May.
The English version of the blog post did not contain the release date, but other languages of the post did. It has since been taken down, but a screenshot can be seen here.
The release date for Mafia: The Old Country is expected to be announced during the PAX East panel on May 8, hosted by Greg Miller. During this panel, developer Hangar 13 will showcase a new gameplay trailer and provide a behind-the-scenes look at the past, present, and future of the series.
Mafia: The Old Country was first announced in August 2024 and then received another trailer a few months later at The Game Awards.
2K Games has not put out a statement regarding the accidental public blog post. It’s safe to say players should expect the next Mafia game to release this August.
