Ubisoft’s attention to reigniting excitement for its older releases has been a known commodity for the past few years on the newest hardware. For the Assassin’s Creed franchise, there has been at least 3 titles that were enhanced for 60 FPS support. In that we saw Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate all face this update.
Additionally, Far Cry has been no stranger to this update as well. Both Far Cry 5 as well as Far Cry: New Dawn were all met with the update respectively too. At least on Xbox, more of its titles do receive the same feature via FPS Boost also. The feature welcomed the same refresh to both Far Cry 4 & Far Cry Primal on both Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S.
Now in a new update this week, Ubisoft reveals that Far Cry 4 is to receive a proper 60 FPS update not only on Xbox, but also on PlayStation 5 as well. In correspondence to the announcement, there are also sales live for Far Cry 4 on the Xbox Store, PlayStation Store, and Ubisoft Store well into May.
“Far Cry 4 will now run at 60 frames per second on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PS5 Pro, thanks to a free update deployed,” Ubisoft announces. “Whether you’re wingsuiting out of a gyrocopter for an aerial incursion or wielding a rocket launcher atop an elephant as you charge into battle, the beautiful scenery and unbridled chaos have never been so inviting on console.”
For Xbox users, you can take advantage of this update if subscribed to Xbox Game Pass. On April 30th, Far Cry 4 was added to Xbox Game Pass so you can load up the 60 FPS update through the subscription. You can read the full report by heading here.
