Nintendo announced that The Legend of Zelda live-action movie will be released on March 26, 2027. While we are still more than a year away, the casting for the movie has yet to be announced, but new reports indicate we may have a Zelda cast.
According to reliable movie insider, DanielRPK, Hunter Schafer is being eyed to play Princess Zelda in the live-action The Legend of Zelda film.

Hunter Schafer has been viewed as one of the most perfect actresses who could portray Zelda the best. The runner-up would likely be Anya Taylor-Joy, but it remains to be seen if she’d even be interested in that role.
Schafer is known for her roles in Cuckoo, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Euphoria, and more. The report of Hunter Schafer playing the role of Zelda has sparked a lot of conversation on the internet as well.
It may be some time before Nintendo reveals the official cast for The Legend of Zelda movie. They have been busy preparing for the next Mario film, which was leaked to be “Super Mario World” releasing on April 3, 2026.
