Dragon Quest VII Remake is reportedly in development

The Dragon Quest series has been receiving remakes as of late. We recently received the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, and Square Enix is planning to release Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake on October 30, 2025.

According to outlet mp1st, Square Enix is currently developing a Dragon Quest VII REmake and it’s planned to be released in early 2025, if things remain on track. The outlet also shared that they saw a brief teaser showing the game’s logo against a cloudy background.

Dragon Quest VII was released for PlayStation 1 on August 26, 2000, and this year will mark its 25th anniversary. The game then saw a release as Dragon Warrior VII on the 3DS.

Since this will be a Remake rather than a Remaster, we will see more than a visual perspective. We will likely see more of an improvement with combat and the overall gameplay, and world.

As always, we must take this with a grain of salt. Square Enix has been quiet so far regarding this title and if it will get a remake.
