This vending machine becomes available only once you’ve completed the main campaign and the “Maurice’s Bounty” quest in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode. This week, the machine is in the Punitive Manufactorium, Cuspid Climb area.

What is Black Market Machine
The Black Market Vendor is a returning mechanic from Borderlands 3. This is essentially a hidden vending machine that spawns in a random location on the entire map. However, this is actually invisible until you get close enough to spot it. You can purchase one thing out of the vending machine at a time. After that, it will go on a cooldown, and you’ll be locked out. It does spawn two different types of gear per player, and then you have a choice of different stat rolls for those two pieces of gear.
How to Unlock Black Market Machine
Complete the main campaign and start the Ultimate Vault Hunter mode mission that acts as a tutorial for how this machine works. After you complete the mission, it will teleport away to a random location. It can be anywhere on the map, so make sure to find it again. The normal way to discover it is by randomly roaming around the map.
It’s really hard to spot because of its optical camo, which essentially makes it invisible. It’s very easy to miss unless you get close to it. As the actual map for Borderlands has now grown so big, it’s highly unlikely that you will just run into it accidentally. It’s meant to be a community effort where everyone’s playing in different areas, and then when someone finds it, they share it with the rest of the community. How it Works
The machine only has two different pieces of legendary gear per player, with a bunch of different stat rolls. Once you purchase one of those items, the machine will then lock you out from buying any more for around 35 minutes. And then you can just come back and buy another one. Each time you do this, it has a different role on the gear. You can check through and look for ones that might have the elements you want, or higher damage or better cooldowns than the others. You may find a good roll of what you’re looking for if you’re lucky.
Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine Location
Find the Black Market Vending machine in the Punitive Manufactorium in the Cuspid Climb area. This vending machine will be available for the week of Sept. 18-25. Make your way behind the waterfall on the Cuspic Climb’s northeast side to find the entrance to this location. Keep moving to the left till you locate an Order base after getting inside. Move to the platforms and pipe once you head to the southeast to get to the above section.
Find the waterfall while roaming outside of the Punitive Manufactorium. Move to the secret opening in the wall at the base of the waterfall. We recommend using the vehicle to pass through the water and get inside the secret cave.
Glide across the large gap to get through after covering the short distance. You don’t need to complete the following steps if you have already completed the Angry Mob side mission. Defeat the enemies once you get to the other side. After that, travel all the way to the drilling machine near the northern wall. Locate the Vault Symbol after you make your way to the top.
Do a double jump and glide to get to the top of the large ice rock after moving to the southeast. Move to the second level by gliding across from the top. Get to the top of the second platform and move to the east side of this area.
Move Above the Platform
Use a grappling hook to move to the ledge and get to the platform above from the eastern corner. Locate the colored crate connected to a pipe at the end of this platform. Use the crate to jump up the ledge above after jumping on it and turning around. Now, use the grappling hook to pull out the next makeshift ledge on the top of the platform. Use the piece of machinery near the edge of the platform to move to the ledge you created. Double jump up to get to the final level.
Defeat all the enemies over there and move to the west by taking the series of stairs. You can find Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine at the end of the platform after moving to the top. It is located to the right of a white container and four flashing red lights.

- The Black Market Vending Machine will teleport to a different location every day in real life.
- If you’re worried about making it in time, you have a whole week to get through the campaign.
