The Sarufutsu Lighthouse Puzzle in Ghost of Yotei is one of the environmental shrine puzzles tied to the side tale “Encounters of the Wild.” The puzzle involves fox statues inside the lighthouse to manipulate two sets of fox statues and place the fox idols correctly. Enter the lighthouse. You’ll see two mirrored fox statue puzzles: one on the left wall and one on the right wall.
Rotate the two fox statues so that they face each other. Doing so will release a small fox idol and pick it up to place it on the left pedestal next to the locked door. You descend into the hideout. There’s a fox locked in a cage. Follow the fox through a cave and climb the Sanctuary Grove. Start Encounters of the Wild Side Tale
You can find the Sarufutsu Lighthouse in the southeast of the Shipwreck Shoal and northeast of the Sentinel Forest. This area is located in the Teshio region, accessible in pursuit of the Kitsune.
Move all the way to the Shipwreck Shoal. This one is located in the northeast of the Teshio Ridge region. Find the house nearby after reaching this location. Find the two wooden fox carvings and interact with them to complete the first part of the puzzle. Interact with the left fox statue to face it towards the right, and interact with the right statue to face it towards the left. The two foxes should be facing each other, allowing a rope to appear to move to the other side.
Now, you need to interact with two more fox statues. Move to the left statue and interact with it to face left, and the right statue to face right. Both the statues are facing away, allowing you to move to the wall up ahead and get inside. Collect all the items and pray at the Altar of Reflection to gain a skill point. Move to the left of the room to get the scroll. Sarufutsu Lighthouse is mentioned in the scroll, allowing you to initiate The Encounters of the Wild side tale.
Solve The Sarufutsu Lighthouse Puzzle
Find the Lighthouse in the distance on your left after getting the scroll. Move all the way to the Lighthouse and get inside it. There are more fox statues on the left and right sides of the room. Approach the fox statues on the left and interact with them to make them face each other. Doing so allows you to pick up the statue from the middle and put it on the pedestal on the left.
Move to the right side of the room and interact with the fox statues over there, and make them face each other. Put the statue on the right pedestal. Get inside the wall ahead and pass through to find the Hunting Camp Hideout. Move freely in the hideout, as there’s no enemy inside. Move down towards the cage to free the fox.
Sarufutsu Lighthouse Walkthrough
You need to climb down and investigate the hunting camp hideout. Cross to the other side by using the grappling hook. Make sure to follow the map of the ledge to the camp.
However, the camp is empty, and the Nine-Tails are eliminated. Find the cage imprisoning a fox while following along the camp. Open the cage to free the fox. Follow the fox towards the direction of a cave, moving to the Sanctuary Grove.
Complete the simple climb challenges like the ladder, crossing the rope, wall climbing, and the grappling hook to climb up the cave. Keep following the path till you see a small opening. Pass through it to make your way to the Sanctuary Grove. Move up the ledges to get to the camp. Speak with the caretaker of the camp.
Exhaust all the dialogues with this NPC and move to the left to pass through the building. Move through the door on its right side and move straight. Approach the fox statue and interact with it. Use the newly appeared ladder to climb up. Move through the path of wooden stairs and climb the other ladder to arrive at the Sanctuary Grove Altar.
