Earlier today, the ‘Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious’ Xbox One game was announced. Now, Microsoft have shared more details on the expansion and confirmation of the companies partnership with Universal Partnerships & Licensing. The deal allows the creation of an original ‘Fast & Furious’ themed expansion for Forza Horizon 2 that acts as a standalone game.

Forza is synonymous with racing and fun, so it’s only natural for us to work with one of the most celebrated action franchises in the world,” said Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox at Microsoft. “This is a great way to bring Forza players into the world of ‘Fast & Furious,’ and in Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious, every fan will get a chance to go wheels-first into the exciting action of the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise.”

‘Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious’ includes 11 vehicles from the ‘Fast & Furious’ films including some new cars from the upcoming ‘Universal Pictures’. The story involves you being recruited by mechanic Tej Parker, sourcing cars for the Fast & Furious crews next big mission. You take part in car challenges set in the south of France (this probably means no new land and Southern France in the mainland, not including the outside mainland) inspired by both the film and Forza Horizon 2 game. As you complete game challenges, you’ll unlock new cars that you can drive in the open world in free roam. You’ll also be able to take photos of your favourite cars and share them with other players on the Forza website and Forza Hub app.

Here’s a list of the special vehicles that will feature in the Expansion:

  • 1970 Dodge Charger R/T Fast & Furious Edition
  • 2012 Nissan GT-R Fast & Furious Edition
  • 1998 Toyota Supra Fast & Furious Edition
  • 2014 Maserati Ghibli S Fast & Furious Edition
  • 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Fast & Furious Edition
  • 2015 Dodge Charger R/T Fast & Furious Edition
  • 1970 Plymouth Cuda Fast & Furious Edition
  • 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Fast & Furious Edition

“‘Furious 7’ is our biggest ‘Fast & Furious’ movie yet, and partnering with the world-class team at Turn 10 Studios offered an exceptional opportunity to thank our millions of passionate fans in an exciting way and to immerse them in an interactive experience that is both visually stunning and adrenaline-charged,” said Bill Kispert, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Digital Platforms, Universal Partnerships & Licensing. “In this adventure, fans will experience the thrill of the ‘Fast & Furious’ series’ most iconic cars through the amazing gameplay of Forza, and we couldn’t think of a better combination for gamers and movie fans alike.”

‘Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious’ will be available at no charge from March 27th until April 10th and will cost $10 afterwards for players. Players who download during the two weeks may keep it free, forever. You will not need to own the main game to play this expansion.
