As of late, the conversation surrounding Call of Duty has faced a significant shift. With the announcement of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, the franchise was met with a breath of new life. One of the biggest realities from the reveal is the inclusion of Nintendo Switch 2 for its release. Features like proper Joy-Con 2 support will be implemented for the version.
Additionally, the new title will be returning to its roots once again for aspects like the campaign. While the featured setting of Korea is nothing new to the IP, it will bring new intrigue to the Modern Warfare storyline. Not to mention it will be playable offline. Other aspects like multiplayer has yet to be expanded in full just yet.
Looking at current standing Call of Duty releases, there is a change taking place on Thursday June 4th. Activision confirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone will be delisted for XBOX One & PlayStation 4. This came just weeks after the closure for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile already. The game will be delisted as of today and by June 25th the online store will be removed as well.
“Call of Duty: Warzone on PlayStation 4 and XBOX One will be available to play through the end of Season 06 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. New downloads will no longer be available on these platforms starting June 4. However, the game can still be installed and played until the end of Season 06 if it is owned in your platform’s library,” the FAQ explains. It goes on to elaborate on the content unlocked & unspent COD points.
“Content purchased with COD Points is shared across your Activision account and will be available on supported platforms when playing on the same linked Activision account used when the content was acquired. COD Points you purchased or earned through Battle Pass progression are tied to platform accounts. Any unspent COD Points on an unsupported console will be available to redeem on the current-generation console within the same console family when using the same account.”
