Just this past week, Nintendo Switch 2 was graced with two expansive additions to its library. The first is Red Dead Redemption: already available on the original Nintendo Switch, players can now find a bevy of new additions to the platform as well with this new release. The other is Assassin’s Creed Shadows. After the success of the Star Wars Outlaws port showing a glowing release, the same is applicable to the new release as well.
Also on the radar is Fallout 4. Although the 2015 game is certainly capable of running on the original Nintendo Switch, a proper release never hit the console’s library. But, next year will be different. In November, Bethesda shipped Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition for Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5. Promises to ship for Nintendo Switch 2 is paved for the following year.
Now amid the wait for Fallout 4 on a proper Nintendo system, Bethesda has offered a surprise release in the form of Skyrim. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Anniversary Edition is now available on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2. You can watch the launch trailer in the video below:
“Winner of over 200 Game of the Year Awards, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition returns with a newly enhanced adventure for Nintendo Switch 2. It brings the legendary open-world fantasy experience to life like never before, at home or on the go. Owners of the Anniversary Edition on Nintendo Switch can download the game for free on Nintendo Switch 2, while owners of the base edition on Nintendo Switch can purchase the ‘Anniversary Upgrade’ to then download the game on Nintendo Switch 2.”
The YouTube description also reveals: “Enjoy enhanced resolution, improved load times, and optimized performance (as compared to Nintendo Switch) that take full advantage of the Nintendo Switch 2’s advanced hardware.” Via social media, it was revealed that mouse control input is also compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
