Xbox Store Officially Added To The Xbox Mobile App

Recently, it was reported that Microsoft is still amping up production on its hardware as the Xbox firm is reportedly working with manufacturing muscle to deliver more to consumers. From Reuters, Microsoft & Foxconn with teaming up to deliver nearly five million new devices with this deal. However, the push for mobile has been a major focus as well. We saw this when Game Pass was integrated into the main Xbox mobile app last fall.

Around that time, there was also an effort to streamline the Xbox Store with mobile too. Although not a full store, games would be available for purchase promised then. It was not until the following spring in April 2025 the feature went live. With game purchasing, there was also new features including remote play facing new additions as well.

Now this week, Microsoft is launching another major addition to the Xbox mobile app. While game purchasing is available, the proper Xbox storefront is now officially implemented into the smart phone app. Users can find that there is now a dedicated tab for the Xbox Store and will provide better results in finding titles to purchase rather than a direct search.

“We’ve now added a dedicated Store tab to more quickly find the games you love, so you can purchase games, add-ons, and join Game Pass with a click of a button. Plus, we’ve added new features to make browsing easier: You can add games to your Wishlist and search for add-ons directly in the app,” Xbox services marketing senior producer marketing manager Dean Shimabukuro writes.

On the topic of mobile gaming with Xbox, the conversation of a free cloud-streaming tier has surfaced previously. In October, it was reported that an ad-based option is coming with internal tests on the way. The testing phase would only provide five hours of playtime, though.
