
During the New Game Plus Showcase on Thursday, Developer Stoic and publisher Xbox Game Studios made an appearance with Towerborne. It was announced that the cooperative, side-scrolling action RPG brawler will be launching in full on February 26, 2026, for Xbox Series, Xbox on PC, Steam, PlayStation 5, and Game Pass.
Towerborne will be available as a premium game for $24.99 for the Standard Edition and $29.99 for the Deluxe Edition. The game had been part of Xbox Game Preview since April 2025, prior to its full release.
Here is what the full game update will bring in February:
The full game update for Towerborne will include an updated and complete story, a full narrative arc featuring a major antagonist, new side quests, and an overhauled Bounty Board.
Two new bosses are being added, including the big bad boss, lieutenants, and umbra enemies.
A new difficulty system is being added to Towerborne, a complete rebalance of the game, and a new ‘Brutal’ difficulty for those who like breaking controllers.
The world map has also been reimagined, and Stoic added a new coastal biome.
Lastly, new gear and player abilities, a new Forge system with the ability to modify, upgrade, and re-roll stats. New music is also being added, along with a bunch of quality-of-life and bug fixes.
