PowerA has released a new line of Xbox controllers and LucidSound headsets as part of its ‘Tropical Vibes’ collection, featuring new looks for summertime gaming. We were fortunate to check out the brand-new LucidSound LS10 Wired Gaming Headset in the Ocean Waves setting that also matches the Beach Vibes Xbox Advantage Wireless Controller.

We are here to give our impressions of the simple but glorious LucidSound LS10 Wired Gaming Headset. First, let’s go over its features:

Comfortable Gaming Headset

Without a question, the LucidSound LS10 lives up to its marketing. It’s a very comfortable headset for gaming, based on my experience. It features the extendable headbands for a variety of gamers. I love it when headset companies offer this with their product, and most of them do. The earpads are comfortable, but they might be a little too small for my liking. The material used for the earpads is comfortable enough; I just wish they were a little bigger.

We are talking about a $30 headset here; we can’t forget about that. For the value, the comfort is a huge plus here. Another plus is that it’s light weight.

Performance

The LucidSound LS10 has the option to adjust the volume coming through the ear, but still, it isn’t loud enough for my liking when playing a game. It gets the job done to get standard audio to you. I wouldn’t use this headset if you are playing a competitive game like Call of Duty, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Marathon, or similar games, if you want to have an advantage over opponents. It seems pretty clear that the LS10 is designed for casual gaming, and it doesn’t hide from that.

As mentioned in its features, it has the flip-to-mute boom mic option, meaning you can hide the microphone in the headset, and it’ll completely mute the mic. To me, this is a huge feature for headsets like this. We’ve all been in scenarios where we don’t realize our mic is being picked up in game chat, and this solves that problem.

When looking at the microphone, I am personally not a fan of its length. For me, I always like to be able to somewhat see part of the mic when playing games or talking to friends.

There is a 3.5mm audio cable allowing to work with a variety of systems and controllers, including Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, Mobile, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Switch 2. Yes, I can confirm that this headset will work on the Switch 2.

Visually Stunning

Is it normal to call a gaming headset ‘Visually Stunning’? Well, today I am calling it that because the Ocean Waves is so good looking with the light blue featuring a mix of red within its design. It’s almost giving GTA 6 vibes if I’m being honest with the palm trees within the headset.

Verdict

The LucidSound LS10 Wired Gaming Headset is a solid headset for casual gaming. For its price, you are getting the basic needs for a gaming headset. The cherry on top with this one is the Ocean Waves design that comes with it. If you are on a budget or trying to set someone up with gaming for the first time, the LucidSound LS10 Headset is one to consider in today’s market.

In my opinion, this is the perfect headset for Nintendo Switch 2.
