Major things are coming to the Minecraft IP. Earlier this spring, it was revealed that Kirsten Dunst is to portray Alex in the new Minecraft movie sequel. The Spider-Man, Roof Man actress is joining the cast alongside Jack Black, Jason Mamoa, and Danielle Brooks. Additionally, it was revealed that a new title has been chosen for the follow-up film: A Minecraft Movie – Squared. The live-action blockbuster releases in July 2027.
As for the games itself, Mojang Studios revealed an in-person Minecraft experience is coming next year. It was announced in March that ‘Minecraft World’ will be opening in London in 2027. Regarding the actual game Minecraft, its most recent update did excite returning players. The ‘Tiny Takeover’ update introduced a new meaning to baby mobs in Minecraft.
Now this week, Mojang Studios returns with its latest Game Drop – Chaos Cubed. You can watch the launch trailer in the video below:
“The sulfur cube isn’t just a mob – it’s a source of endless experimentation and possibility!” the blog post reads. “That’s because the sulfur cube’s physical properties will change depending on what sort of block it has absorbed. Different blocks will change the sulfur cube’s speed, its bounciness, and its overall chaos levels, so there’s a perfect cube combo for every situation — and countless more waiting to be discovered.”
The new biome description reveals: “That’s not the only source of chaos coming in this drop either. Geysers can send players (and mobs) skywards on a plume of water – and while sulfur pools look relaxing, those bubbling waters will actually leave you with a spot of the Nausea effect thanks to the potent sulfur blocks. Oh, and while you’re exploring the sulfur caves, watch out for sulfur spikes! These form on cave ceilings and floors like stalactites and stalagmites, and they can also fall randomly from the sky, and cause damage! Ooooh, chaotic.”
How excited are you for Chaos Cubed in Minecraft?
