Just announced at Microsoft’s E3 2018 Conference revealed Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, confirming its Washington D.C. setting and showing gameplay for the upcoming title.
In the aftermath of the outbreak in New York City as Washington D.C. falls 27 days after the first instance of the breakout occurs. A Civil War begins as the nation capital becomes a target. Bringing the entire United States to the brink of collapsing.
In the gameplay footage shown at the event, the game is set in a more open and organic world than the previous urban Manhattan. With vegetation being more abundant and survivors more spread out through Washington D.C.. And the first time seeing the series being brought outside of the snow and showing more sun and even rain as well.
Some new gadgets and enemies were shown. Like the Hive that releases small, robotic bees that attack the closest enemy when deployed. And the drone has returned as an tool, similar to using the seeker mine. The tank is a new type of heavy enemy with body armor that shields the front of him. But has a weak spot if you can maneuver behind him. Another new enemy can shoot a type of adhesive that sticks to players and stops them in their tracks, but you can shoot at it to free your partners.
The Division 2 will be available on March 15, 2019 for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC.
