Since the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim back in 2011, Bethesda has been brining the award-winning title to any platform they can get their hands on. Most recently with the Switch version coming with Amiibo support and implementing motion controls with the joy con technology.
Bethesda even joked about the subject during their E3 Conference this year with a little skit on Skyrim coming to anything we can think of. Showcasing Skyrim for Amazon’s Alexa, which is available for free.

In the recent Gamelab Conference, Game Director Todd Howard speaks on the frequent amount of players on Skyrim. Nearly seven years sine the game’s debut and millions of players are still active on the RPG. Howard comments that there’s one way to stop the game from its continuous adaptations to other platforms:

That’s why we keep releasing it. If you want us to stop releasing it, stop buying it.

According to the piece by gamesindustry.biz, Skyrim clocked up an active play count over 50,000 in 2018. For a last gen single-player title that’s pretty impressive. To see a stop in the on-going joke, it’s up to the community to keep the publisher from seeing the title reach new platforms we couldn’t even imagine.
